Or… you know… I doodled on myself/accidentally got pen on me five minutes ago. I mean this same logic could be used for anything.
“Animal and/or human feces on the body could suggest a person has not washed properly in at least a day.”
“The scent of sunscreen on the body could suggest a person has not washed properly in at least a day.”
etc etc etc

“Patches of semi-sentient mold on the body could suggest a person has not washed properly in at least a day.”

Yep, I’m going to be one of those obnoxious people who gets bothered by absolutely everything.
I have a problem with this sentiment.  Actually, I have a problem with ONE WORD on this image:  “But.”  When you use the word “but” in a sentence, for example in this kind of “X but Y” phrasing, the “but” serves the purpose of negating X.  Therefore, when you say “Where being obese is genetics BUT” you are saying that obesity is not caused by genetics, and in this particular instance, you reinforce the idea that that obesity is caused by the choices someone makes.  True, that is occasionally the case, but more often than not obesity is caused by genetics and hormones and other underlying issues.
So of course this also means that using “obesity as caused by genetics” is NOT a sign of the backwardness of America, but, in fact, THE TRUTH.

I think it was just a joke dear. From a medical stand point, yes some obesity is caused by genetics passed from parents but the joke is that not a lot of people believe that you are born being gay or whatever. If being gay was genetic, then their Christian God made them that way and it’s alright to be gay.

It is just a joke, but that’s the problem, and saying “it’s just a joke” or “you’re just being oversensitive” is not an excuse for saying something offensive.  “Jokes” like these normalize problematic thinking and behavior.

There’s no way to adequately regulate things that might be hurtful, there just isn’t. People are too diverse. We just have to do our best to look past the surface to the intent. This, I mean, obviously, is a dig on the cultural perception that homosexuals are making a choice. A choice to engage in that… deliciously decadent behavior… which is ridiculous.
From a comedic standpoint, it literally does not matter what the first portion of this one-two punchline is so long as it is tangentially true because it’s not about it, comedically. Admittedly, it’s not a very good joke, and I would be more forgiving if it were better… also, “and” would probably have been a better conjunction to use than “but.”
I don’t think that jokes like this serve to reinforce anything, though. They’re an inescapable symptom of something that’s already there and responding to so obvious and brief (though unfunny) a joke as this with a tirade doesn’t necessarily serve the cause, I don’t think. Better to keep the brave face, calmly correct the error with a “…but obesity is genetic,” and wish people were funnier.
Maybe we should make one that says “Welcome to America - Where being obese is genetics but being obese is a choice.” That’ll wrinkle a brain or two.

YES.

“Welcome to America -
RUN BRO!”

You’ve probably heard of the War on Marriage. If there were any details you were wondering about, here’s basically what happened:

Obama stood on the platform, high up; looking out over the crowd massed in the square below. Lesbian ninjas watched, unseen, from the shadows; and flamboyantly gay…

I think same sex couples should be able to get married.

That if the Avengers is a trilogy, that in the third movie, they’re going to have to fight the strongest person in the entire Marvel universe.

Squirrel Girl.

Literally the strongest person in the entire Marvel…

If Whedon is allowed to make three Avengers movies, there won’t be a single living being left in the entire Marvel universe.
